Summer Fun

Mike is officially out of school for the summer and we are loving it. We have been doing a ton of stuff. We went to the childrens museum, the zoo, a baseball game, and having tons of fun with relaxing at home. A couple weeks ago or last week, not exactly sure when I gave J his first haircut. I was getting tired of the top of his head having longer hair then the rest so we buzzed it.

He looks so grown up now. Today he is officially 11 months old. The past month he has been walking around holding on to the couches and walls and whatever else he can hold onto, but just the past week or week and a half he has been venturing off and walking on his own. He walks with his hands held high in the air for balance but its so adorable since he waves at the same time! Next week Mike will be going off to Guatemala and I will be headed to Utah to visit family. Before we know it this summer is going to be over and Mike will be starting his 2nd year in medical school. We have also decided to not get the internet at our home until school starts again, so our updates will be spread out since we have to go to our pool with our computer. Here are some fun pictures for you all.

Lisa and Rustin's Wedding

 J all smiles

Besides J turning 10 months and Mike being done with his 1st year of med school. This past weekend Mike's younger sister Lisa got married. She and her husband were married in the Mesa, AZ Temple. The ceremony was so beautiful. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. Lisa just look absolutely gorgeous in her wedding dress and her husband was handsome in his tux. For the occasion I searched and searched to find him just a simple white button up shirt and black dress pants, but evidently they don't make them for little infant boys. After a week of searching Mike and I found a tux for 6 months at Dillards. He looked so handsome in his outfit with the tie Lisa found at Children's Place. Here are some fun pictures.........

J 10 mos & Mike 1 year down

J turned 10 months old last Monday. I keep saying that he is the world's greatest baby and I know I am probably way bias since I'm his mom, but really he is. The day he turned 10 months his 1st tooth broke through. This week his 2nd top tooth has broken through. So now my baby has 4 teeth!!!! We have been teaching him to walk back and forth between us. Today he decided to venture off on his own and let go of his jumperoo to walk to the coffee table. I was so proud of him!! He loves it when he is practicing walking and falls down. We especially love it when he is super tired and giggles a ton...He has also learned the sign language for "all done" and kind of says it too...he mostly just says the "aaaaahhh" part. :) We are also trying to teach him the sign language for "I love you"...it's so adorable, he just raises his pointer finger at you. It's the sweetest thing in the world when he says I love you like that.
Mike has finished his 1st year of medical school. He has done so wonderful and I am so proud of him. I know it wasn't easy going back to school full time after having a 2 year break and having a wife get upset some days when she doesn't get to spend as much time with her husband as she used to. I think the 2nd year will be a little bit better. J will be older and we can go places like the zoo. He has also completed his first year with great grades!!! This summer he will be going to Guatemala for a week and I will be in Utah when he goes. I want to spend this summer spending as much time with him as possible. If anyone has any great ideas of places to go see in AZ that would be awesome; I know we are going to go to the Grand Canyon and I wanted to go to Lake Havasu to see the London Bridge. I definitely don't want to spend the time in front of the TV! :) Also if anyone would like to go camping, we are all for that too just let us know!!!

9 months

So J has been 9 months for a while now. Actually he will be turning 10 months in 2 weeks. Anyways, at his appointment he was 17 lbs 12 oz and 26 1/4 inches tall. His head circumference is 17 inches which was the same as his 6 month check up. It looks like my little baby has taken a break from growing for a while!! :) I love my short little man. He has the best personality in the world. Again I'll post pictures later...I really hope to get our internet problems solved soon!

J's FIRSTS

J has discovered new things that he loves. The one in the last post was the tramp. The other thing is the park...he loves the swings,
 slide, and the sand.
I don't have a picture of the slide, but he loves it so much that when I put him at the top he scoots his butt forward so he will slide. Also some other fun firsts...he has learned to open the cupboards,
drink out of a straw...he loves caprisuns,
to hold his bottle and feed himself,

I also bought some Easter books for J and the picture below was him "reading" the books.
and he tried avacado's today....he wasn't to thrilled about them yet. Maybe in a couple weeks or so we can try it again.
