Martin's Cove and Resident Campout

When we first arrived to Casper, we thought we would take advantage of the free time Mike had until work started. Mike has never been to Martin's Cove before and I had been there twice with my family and my church. It's only an hour away from our home so we set off.

Mike and I pulled the handcart while the kids rode in it.

Apparently there is a dog that follows all the youth groups that come in to do treks...he lives somewhere near Martin's Cove, but doesn't belong to the missionaries there. But he looks a lot like Dozer so we had to take a picture!!

Take a break...It was pretty hot out that day.

This guy, decided to hoof and make angry calls at us. Dozer saw him once and tried to attack, but we didn't let him. I swear the antelope was going to charge us with all the hoofing he was doing.

Turns out he was probably protecting his domain and these ladies...

The Cove is just behind this hill. Many saints lost their lives at this place while traveling to Salt Lake

We didn't stop to really take a look at Devil's Gate, but here is a nice picture!

A couple days later we went to the Residents campout...it was in the mountains closer to Montana...thats why it's soo green!! We loved the drive. The campout was from Friday - Sunday, but we had to leave on Saturday night because I couldn't breath. Mike and J went on a hike on Saturday. Dozer loved playing in the creek and so did the kids!
